AFRICAN DAYS AT THE WARSAW UNIVERSITY

African Days is a well known project which is implemented by the Warsaw University Interdepartmental African Circle. The event became a regular happening which takes place in Warsaw every spring. Also this year within its frames all the Afroenthusiasts from entire Poland will be given chance to participate the interesting meetings. There will be also dance workshops, drum show, musical Afro-event, meeting with African poetry, discussion panels, photo exhibition titled "Africa in Warsaw" and many lectures.

Schedule of the 6th edition:

4th MAY (Wednesday)
3:30 pm discussion panel „Does Africa require aid?”
Guests: John Godson - member of Polish parliament; dr Grzegorz Waliński - former Polish Ambassador in Nigeria; dr Hanna Rubinkowska-Anioł - graduate of African Studies ad the Warsaw University; representative of the Polish Humanitarian Aid
Venue: room 308, old Warsaw University Library

6th MAY (Friday)
10:00 am - 2:00 pm Classes of African languages (Swahili, Hausa, Amharic)
Venue: Schayer room (Dept. of Oriental Studies, Warsaw University)

13th MAY, (Friday)
3:00 pm drum workshops
7:30 pm dance workshops
9:30 pm musical Afro-event.
Venue: 'Uanga' African Dance School, Białostocka Str. 22

17th MAY, (Tuesday)
8:00 pm meeting with African poetry, settlement of the photo competition „Afryica in Warsaw” and presentation of the photographs
Venue: Staromiejski Community Centre
