On Friday, 11th March 2011, there will be held a vernissage of the painting exhibition by Anna Poduszyńska. There will be presented two groups of paintings, based on motives which were inspired by Africa. The first cycle is titled as „Protective coloration” while another is titled „The daughter of lake”. The initial artistic inspirations for the painter were emotional reactions for everything which surrounded her in Kenya - frankness of indigenous people and happenings which caused fascination and concetration which could transform into laugh, fear or uncertainty. As a painter Anna Poduszyńska admired scenery of all the places which she visited as well as air being saturated with light which left its reflections at dark skins. All these things contrasted with colourful clothes and building elevations. The artist was also fascinated by the way how Africans used to celebrate each everyday activity which created a unique rhytm and cult of a moment. The exhibition let the painter express all her feelings which were gained during her stay in Kenya.

The event is not a first African initiative by Anna Poduszyńska. She was an originator and co-organizer of the project titled as „Africa: rhytms and rituals” (2009-2010), which consisted of artistic workshops and the exhibition titled „Africa- art/ethnography” which was presented in the Seweryn Udziela Ethnographic Museum in Cracow.
