POLISH UNIVERSITY SUPPORTS THE MKWAKWANI PRIMARY SCHOOL
We are pleased to inform you that Lazarski University, Faculty of Law and Administration, situated in Warsaw, have been supporting the educational needs of a Kenyan school, Mkwakwani Primary, located in Ukunda near Mombasa.
The campaign was initiated by the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Zbigniew Lasocik. The idea came to him during a visit to the school at the end of 2008. The place was desperately in need of the most basic things to ensure efficient teaching. Since then Łazarski University, initially acting on its own and later with the help of our organization, started collecting and sending to Mkwakwani the much needed teaching material, mostly notebooks and pens. The materials were given to the school by companies and private people as well. Each and every package sent to Kenya is met with great joy and gratitude from the children and it is, as the Headmaster, Mr Said Bombori, says - an indispensable aid. It is worth mentioning that apart from this help, the Faculty of Law and Administration, Lazarski University has made a decision to take the Mkwakwani Primary School under its patronage starting this year, 2010.
Ensuring delivery of the packages to Kenya would not have been possible without our friends from the Poland-East Africa Economic Foundation (PEAEF). A vote of thanks goes out to them for their great help and our sincere congratulations to the Faculty of Law and Administration at the Lazarski University for their initiative!
